Beykush Amphora Riesling

Amphora Riesling is a single-varietal wine made from 100% Riesling, crafted in ceramic amphoras that lend it a distinctive texture and mineral character. Amphora aging is one of the oldest winemaking methods, now experiencing a revival among modern winemakers seeking an alternative to oak and stainless steel.

The grapes are hand-picked at the end of October — late harvesting allows the berries to develop maximum concentration of flavor and aroma. After harvest, the berries undergo cold maceration for 12 hours at 4°C for delicate extraction of aromatic compounds from the skins, followed by pressing. Fermentation takes place in 250-litre spherical ceramic amphoras made by Clayver in Liguria, Italy. After fermentation, the wine is racked off the gross lees and returned to the same amphoras, where it ages on fine lees for a further 6 months.

Unlike oak, ceramic imparts no foreign aromas to the wine — instead, the porous structure of the clay provides micro-oxygenation similar to barrel aging while preserving the pure varietal character of Riesling. The result is a wine of mineral depth and a texture that cannot be achieved by any other method. The label depicts amphoras of various shapes, carrying the traditional patterns and textures of our vineyards.

The 2025 vintage run is 1,500 bottles.
